Based in Salisbury, MDServing Maryland & Delaware communities

Paint is the part of a home people notice first, and it is unforgiving of shortcuts. We spend most of the job on preparation: filling and sanding, caulking gaps that would otherwise show, masking edges, and protecting floors and furniture before a brush comes out.

Interior and exterior painting is one of the six service groups Silva Handyman Contractor works in around Salisbury, Maryland and nearby Maryland and Delaware communities. Most jobs are a single room, a stairwell, a full exterior, or the trim and doors that make a repaint look finished.

What this includes

  • Walls and ceilingsPatch, sand and spot-prime first, then two finish coats on walls and ceilings, including closets and hallways.
  • Trim, doors and windowsBaseboards, casings, crown, doors and window trim sanded, caulked at the joints and painted with a finish that stands up to cleaning.
  • Cabinets and built-insLightly used cabinet fronts and built-ins cleaned, scuff-sanded and painted when the surface can take a durable finish.
  • Exterior siding and trimLoose paint scraped, bare spots primed, joints caulked, and siding and trim coated when weather and surface conditions allow.
  • Protection and clean-upDrop cloths, plastic and tape on every surface we are not painting, with a daily tidy-up and a final walkthrough.
  • Colour guidanceHelp narrowing a shortlist of colours and sheens for each surface, using your samples or ours.

What to send us

  • The rooms or exterior sides you want painted, and roughly how many square feet each is.
  • Photos of each area in daylight, including any cracked, peeling or water-stained spots.
  • Whether ceilings, closets, trim and doors are included or walls only.
  • Colour and sheen you already have in mind, plus the brand if you have a preference.
  • Your ZIP code and the best times for a walkthrough.

Questions we will ask

  • Are there repairs under the paint, such as drywall damage, popped nails or rotted trim?
  • How much furniture needs moving, and how much wall space is currently blocked?
  • Is the ceiling height standard, or does the room need a taller ladder or staging?
  • For exteriors: what is the siding material, and how much paint is already failing?
  • What is the weather window, and does the schedule need to work around other trades?
